Trillian Sound Events from Emoticons Posted In Messages

Post by flutecake »

Okay, I used Trillian for a short while on the work PC. Now, all my pals use Trillian on their PC but I will not spend MY money on PC stuff.

I have been using Adium for over a month, love the Trillian emoticons but wish I could hear the sounds that the others hear.

What am I missing?? Please point me to the correct Extra!!

I have my other Extras loaded, love the Red Sox & the Hippy dock icons, by the way!!!!

Thanks for the welcome!!!! :D

Is there anyone else who knows or feels inclined to do some programming wizardry to make this work??? C'mon, wouldn't it be cool to hear the UFO sound or the toilet flush when your pals send it??

Yeah flutecake, if you had copies of the sounds available, someone here would turn them into an Adium soundset. Also, welcome to the forums too! :)
I'm... kinda tired... I think I'll go home now.

It's not a soundset, though - it's "emotisounds". When, in Trillian, someone sends you "(ufo)", or you send it, it not only becomes an emoticon, but it plays a little ufo-sound. Not something I like, but it amuses me to be able to make other people's computes make noise. My guess is it'd have to be a plugin.

Oh I see, I had thought it was simpler than that. But what y'all are talking about would definitely be wild.

Why not use mp3s for the emoticons?

That'll be a cool hack :D

Hmm... could you get image /and/ sound? Like, an image, and also an embedded/hidden mp3?
