Smooth Operator 1.0?

I like the smooth scrolling effect, however, it does start lagging when messages get to a decent length (1GHz G4, 1GB ram)

I've opted to turn it off.

Is this an error

Sometimes the most recent message appears about 1 cm above the place where it should normaly appear (creating some amount of unused space). Most of the time it doesn't do that.. I love this style, but the amount of space bothers me (especially on my small iBook).

ps: hopefully my english doesn't suck to much.. in my defense, it's only my third language
