specify a Label for an account?

Post by valkraider »

Is there a way to specify a label for an account?

Example: I have an account on a server at the office that when I am in the office I connect to directly, but when I am at an offsite location I have to pipe via SSH.

Rather than go in and change the proxy settings on the account every time I change locations, it is easier just to set up two accounts - one that goes through the proxy and one that does not.

But since they are accounts on the same server, they have the same login name, so in all the menus they both are titled or labeled: "account@server.com"

This makes it hard to tell which one is which... Is there a way to set a label that could be displayed instead of the account login info? Like "server via ssh" or "server direct".

If there is not the ability, this would be a "nice to have" feature...

Launch Adium with the option key held down, from there you can have different sets of "users".

It's mainly a tool for developers to test stuff, but could prove useful for you.
