iTunes current track playing: how to?

Instead do *is listening to %_track by %_artist from %_album*

It will display, for example:

I have a .Mac account and have pasted /music in my profile (Preferences > Accounts > Personal). If I view my info, I can see the iTunes song and artist under Profile, but not in the contact list, nor do my friends. What's wrong?

Yes, I can, but they use iChat.

So this isn't possible in Adium?

Thats there status, not there profile.
iChat, as far as I know (not having used it for over a year now) does not support profiles.

Anyway, I can see their current iTunes song in the contact list if they use iChatStatus. Who can be bothered to click Get info to see what they play? I hope this will be possible in a later edition.

A step back, as I think what we have here is a failure to communicate:

Are you talking about their status? Use the %_track, /music, whatever, in your away message. Same as you would in your profile.

No, I am talking about MY status. I wish that people could see my current iTunes songs in the contact list. I can see their in my Adium contact list, if they use iChat and iChatStatus.

1) You can't set an online status message like iChat, as previously discussed.

2) As previously stated, put /music as your "away message", which is the "status" that appears in lists.

Hey all - I've been using the /music and I love it! Except I hate that everytime someone IM's me - they get that autoreply back telling them what I'm listening to. Especially if they happen to IM me again 5 minutes later, and I've closed that window - they see it again - and it gets annoying.

I've tried taking it out of the "automatically reply" box in preferences, but it seems to put it back in there. Is there no way to avoid this if I want to display what I'm listening to?

You cannot currently disable autoreply but you could just put a space there and it would only send a space for the autoreply, avoiding the music send

good idea! maybe I'll just put "hi" or something since that would make sense (except it'll seem I'm pretty damn quick on the draw, and might confuse them if I'm actually not a the computer at all) haha...

I can't get it to work! What I want is something like "bootliner is listening to DT - Hey", and I've tried putting /music as my Alias in both msn and ICQ, but it doesn't work! What exactly should I do?
