The previous version of Adium that I had had an option in Preferences to "Save Logs as Plain Text". I don't see this any longer. Now, logs are saved as ".html" files as opposed to ".AdiumLog" files. Is there a way to set them to be plain text again?

Ummmm...hardly an insult. I don't really thing congratulations are in order either though. I meant just what I said. Thanks for the responses. They were very brief. ::shrugs::
Why was text logging removed? I thought it would be infinitely more sensible to remove HTML logging, which is extremely bloated for message logging... It makes the file four times bigger just to add colour.
I'd REALLY like to see text logging come back; I don't see why they removed something that worked perfectly fine!

Adium's "HTML" logging does not store color information.
Alternative logging formats are being discussed, but the return of plaintext isn't going to happen, as it doesn't really meet the requirements (see http://trac.adiumx.com/wiki/LogFormatIdeas )
Er, I can see the advantages of HTML logging, but why not at least give the users the option of choosing text logging? I'm sure some of us just want plain logs that we can search and read quickly with BBEdit.

Because its not easy to incorporate the file format given all of Adium's features (with plain-text logging, the message history will always be separate from the logs, the log viewer won't look as good, etc.)
It's really not much harder to drag your file to Safari instead of BBEdit.

What advantage does it give us to have text logging?
Like I said, you can always just use an older version of the software. In a way, I feel like some of the .7x versions offer more customization options than the newer versions.
