what do I mean
say I have a contact who has 4 IM's (msn, icq, Y, aol)
I double click to chat with him, it gives me the history of .. lets say .. MSN .. I select his ICQ contact instead on the drop down menu in front of his name (Message window) .. the history wont change to the history of the last time we spoke using ICQ, it will remain MSN
Null
Wish: History changes when you change contact's IM

What he's saying is that when he switches service, he wants the history to update... so when the window opens and it has the MSN contact selected (in the metacontact), it shows the last time you chatted over MSN... but when you switch to the ICQ contact, the history doesn't change.
This would actually require a lot of work, based on how it's set up.... so while I actually agree that behavior would look nicer, I wouldn't expect to see it any time soon.

I think it should just show the last conversation you had with the person, regardless of service. Isn't the point of message history so that you can see where you left off with the person? And isn't the point of metacontacts so that service doesn't matter from an interface perspective?

Yeah, that'd make even more sense. Message history is broken in svn now, anyways.. that may a good thing to look at when reimplementing it.FredAkbar wrote:I think it should just show the last conversation you had with the person, regardless of service.
