REQUEST: Option for smaller display name in dock icon

Without too much sacrifice to the simplicity already in Adium, I humbly request to add an option in the Events alert pane: the option for a smaller display name in the dock icon and name placement, bottom or top of the dock icon (top by default), as it was done in the days of old.

What do you think?

I was talking about the display name in dock icon which appears after receiving background messages (by default).

1. In Adium 1.6.2c, it was an option to place this display name at the top or bottom of the dock icon. For some icons, the cooler animation is on the top rather than the bottom, thus this animation becomes covered by the display name. One could argue that it is easier to entirely remove the display name. But I wish to keep it because I still want to know who has IMed me before clicking.

2. In addition, I think that the display name font is huge. Mildly longer names trail off. I suggest smaller display name font as an option!

I was only using the same name used in the Adium preferences. 8)

You might want to take a look at Growl
http://www.growl.info

It's not dock stuff, but it has pretty on screen notifications.
