Can't see cursor while typing

Post by Crazy Chucky »

I've looked through all the documentation and forum topics, so I hope I didn't miss a solution to this somewhere... I have my background colour (for my outgoing IMs) set to black, so the section at the bottom of the IM window where I actually type is black. The only problem is, the text cursor (not the mouse, but the little blinking line) is also black. Now, I can still type and everything, so it's not really a big problem I guess, but it's really annoying. If I want to go back a few letters and fix a typo or something, I have no way of knowing where the cursor is. Is there any way to make the cursor white, or something?

Nope. Unless you want to mod the system, which isn’t actually advised for just this.

Yeah, I noticed the same thing happens in Pages. Seems like a system-wide thing to me.

Is there any way, then, to make my text background come out black when actually sent as IMs, but not in the typing pane? Maybe something similar to iChat... (In iChat, you type black on white, and it gets formatted when actually sent.) I dunno, just an idea. I guess I can just deal with it, but it seems like there might be some sort of workaround that doesn't involve editing source or something. Especially since I have no idea how to do that. : P
