New message style - Stockholm

Post by iheartny »

I've created a new message style called Stockholm and I'd love some feedback on it before I publish it to the Adium extras site.

Please respond to this thread if you see room for improvement or if you find any problems with it.

[edit: I found a work around for the breaking edges bug I was experiencing.]

Thanks for your help.

These days, all styles look something like another style..

The style is very nice, except as is a problem with an absurd number of message styles, it looks nasty when it encounters long MSN Display names, that go over the edge of the line. I think this can be fixed by having the 'name bar' bit for the sender automatically grow with increased sender length, else hide the overflow a-la candybars.

Thanks for catching that for me Micheal. I corrected this by hiding the overflow.

Thank you to everyone for you compliments!
Any more suggestions or problems?

My aim in creating this message style is to provide a clean, simple and elegant interface that organizes information in a logical and inherently understandable way. These are some of the most basic principles of Scandinavian design, hence the name "Stockholm". There is a lot to be said for innovation as well-- but my point of view is if it ain't broke, don't fix it.

Awesome. I really like it. Thanks for making it work for long MSN names. I always am editing messages styles myself to make them work properly.

My only suggestion-get it up on adiumxtras!

Edit: Offtopic-350 posts! Play that funky music white boy! *dances*

Update: I figured out a work around for the disappearing sides and uploaded the message style to the xtras site. It's pending approval. Thanks for all your help!
