Funny time display in messages( SmoothOperator style)

Post by Raf »

I don't know if this will apply to the normal version, but I've seen it in the beta version only.

The SmoothOperator style shows time with funny times, i.e. a message sent 13:35 is shown as 34:35. This only applies to times displayed on the left side (i.e. not the first line where time is displayed on the right).

Time stamps in history are ok, it is only for messages displayed using that style.

Didn't think about it . Is it how the style is supposed to display time for non-first lines?

Isn't this more SO's fault? Or does this happen with other message styles?

It is the way the style was designed, on the first line of your conversation you get the HH:MM your message was sent, on any item sent or received before the other party answers, you get the MM:SS.

It is up to what the style designed decided here. And all things considered, is not a bad design at all, once you know how it works.

Correction for the first line: it’s the Medium length of timestamps in the International Pane with seconds or not.
