Text is displaying funky in message window.

Post by japst4r »

For some reason, and I don't think it is supposed to be like this cause I don't remember it doing this before, incoming messages look bolder than my outgoing messages. I have it set to not recieve incoming fonts, so it isn't just that the person I'm talking to has bold turned on and I don't. I've tried changing the fonts multiple times and it always has my outgoing messages looking all skimpy in comparison to the incoming messages which look bold. How can I get it back to having outgoing and incoming messages look the same?

This is what it looks like:

Since bold and italic are font-face and size independent, they do not get ignored in the message views. This makes sense, because some people use it properly, and not just for effect.

When I set font to be bold in the preferences my outgoing font doesn't look like that. In fact, nothing changes when I set it to bold.

What happens if you open a message window, go to Format > Show Fonts, and set the font to bold?

Any idea what the name might have been or anything so I can google for it? Or is it on the Adium Xtras site so I can look for it there?

Tried that too, doesn't do anything.

Strange. That works for me, but it might just be my message style.

Actually it is working for me too now. However, I have to go through every contact and do that for every one in order for it to be set for all of them. Kind of annoying. Also, after a while it stops working and I have to restart Adium.
