Growl and Synk

Post by camner »

Synk is a growl-compatible app. Synk can run from the Finder and also has a schedule capacity, where the schedule daemon runs in the background.

When Synk is run from the Finder, Growl notifications work as intended. When Synk is run via its schedule daemon, no notifications take place.

The author of Synk speculated that the cause might be that the schedule daemon runs as the system user, rather than the logged in user, and suggested that this was likely more of a Growl issue than a Synk issue.

Does anyone have an idea as to why this phenomenon takes place and whether there is a workaround?

You don't have permission to the current window process. it's an os x issue. you'd have to give synk the proper access required or the dev will need to figure out a better way of doing whatever he/she is doing.

Tell the dev to post here if he has any questions.
