Blocking non-contact messages?

Is there a way to block all messages from folks not on my contact list? I've been getting some spam lately, which is bad enough, but this is in Japanese. :)

Set it in the prefs for the official AIM program. It should work that way.

This is a fairly common request (and iirc it's in trac). I wouldn't be surprised to see it with the enhanced blocking support in 0.9.
