SkypeNet API

Post by Luhmann »

This is not the same as the MacOS X API discussed in the previous thread. (I apologize for confusing the two earlier today.) This was announced just today:

It is an IM API, not an application specific API. Unfortunately it hasn't been released yet, so you have to write them an e-mail if you want to play with it. I hope that the folks at Adium will do this.

I guess their are rumors that Google Talk is an attempt to do the same unify thing with the chat services. I wonder what will happen. We are at the mercy of gaim with it comes to this stuff though.

That skype thing sounds great. What do the devs think?

You have to e-mail the folks at Skype to get the API. It hasn't been released yet. Hopefully one of the Adium developers has already done this. According to today's post on the share.skype.com website, over 500 developers have already e-mailed them to request more information.
