adium sounds ONLY thru iBook speakers?

ok, i have my ibook hooked up to my stereo for music purposes. when im playing music , the adium sounds get really annoying! is there anyway i can have them ALWAYS play thru the iBook speakers? even if im hooked up to my stereo?

Rogue Amoeba does stuff like that, its really great software, but you have to purchase it.
Detour is exactly what you're looking for.

Detour nothin'. Preferences->General->Play through alert device. Set your alert device to be different from your speakers device and you're golden.

Note that you need two audio devices. This is true for Detour, too. I recommend the ~$39 iMic by Griffin, which I used before I had my Airport Express.

ok i have the iMic already for use with my guitar...but i dont use the iMic when i hook my iBook up to my stereo..i jsut use the headphone to 2 femal connector the came with the iMic...can you explain to me how to set this up? im kind of confused!! thanks!

ok NVM...i got it! i just had to run it thru the iMic instead.
