Solved: Contact list shows email addy instead of alias

I don't know how it happened for some reason, but my contact list is showing the email addresses of my contacts instead of their screen name / user name / alias etc. like it used to show. Basically, I'd appreciate if someone decided to share how this is changed back.

I did recently upgrade to Adium X 0.84 (might have happened around that timeframe actually).
Also related, I haven't found the View> Contact Name Format> settings in Adium to do anything. As another related note, some applications / aspects of the OS (X 10.4.2) have not been retaining some of their settings after I quit the app or restart the computer. Does moving the Adium app from Applications to Applications>Internet etc. break this? I don't remember it being broken for weeks but it is something that might also be less than ordinary that I've changed. Any other info that helps, please feel free to ask! Thanks in advance!

Are you running any haxies? Haxies are the devil, and can cause some really strange problems.

Also, when did you last restart your computer? I know it sounds weird but if you haven't restarted your Mac for a while funky things happen in Denmark.

I'm not familiar enough to have started hacking anything (yet). So no, that's not an issue.

Since I've noticed this issue, I've rebooted plenty so that's not it either.

Preferences -> Advanced -> MSN. Uncheck "Show display names as status messages". Restart Adium.
