GrowlMail preference pane missing

Post by baldyauldeejit »

Just installed (and reinstalled) GrowlMail from the Extras folder in the Growl v0.7.2 installer folder but the preference pane isn't showing up in Mail (window has been expanded to show all panes). Using Mail 1.3.11 under OS 10.3.9. Any ideas?

No, I'm on 10.4.1 with Mail 2.0.1 (730) and I don't see the preference pane either. The applescript works though.

Everyone look in ~/Library/Mail/Bundles and see if there is a GrowlMail bundle there.

Quit mail and remove that one. The .7.2 GrowlMail installs into a separate location.

Well, same problem here.:

I just upgraded to OSX 10.4.2 with Mail 2.0.2.
First Mail complainded about an uncompatible Bundle (I still had Growl 0.7 installed) and moved MailGrowl to ~/Library/Mail/Bundles (Disabled).
Then I installed Growl 0.7.2 and the MailGrowl that comes with it, which ended up in /Library/Mail/Bundles.
But the MailGrowl Preference Pane doesn't show up, nor does MailGrowl work with the old configuration…

Well, of course I meant GrowlMail instead of MailGrowl in all instances.

This is the first time install of GrowlMail and Growl on my system, Growl seems to be working OK but the prefpane for GrowlMail is still missing.

I checked for ~/Library/Mail/Bundles to see if it was there but the bundles folder doesn't exist. I found it in /Library/Mail/Bundles, but it still doesn't work.

I have tried deleting it and reinstalling several times but it makes no difference.

Alan.

Try moving the bundle from the / directory to the ~ one

Try quitting mail, and running the two commands that apply to your system here:

It Works!

I did the 2 commands shown. Started Mail and it crashed. I remove all the GrowlMail Bundles except for the on on the /. Restarted Mail and now everything works. It seams that the installer is not doing the final scirpt.

I had the same issue for a while now and I did the two command above, but with no luck. I am using 10.4.2 with Mail 2.0.3. Anyway to get this work?
