almost the frontmost window

Whats the deal with when I start a new chat with someone, and the "You attempted to send an unencrypted message to xxxx" pops up. it is certainly the frontmost window, but a "return" or "enter" will not dismiss it, you have to bring it to the "super frontmost" with a click.
