Programs like adium utilize growl really well, but i was wondering whether it would be possible to have emoticons displayed on growl messages. ie: if you're familiar with msn6/7 on M$ Windows, then you'll notice that when a contact comes online and he/she has an emoticon in his name, the emoticon is actually displayed on the sign in message (ie its displayed as Person rather than being displayed as :DPerson:D). Is it possible, or too difficult. Same goes with notificiations of new messages.
sorry bout not being able to post a screenshot, I just sold my PC and only have a Powerbook G4 available to me (cute little 12" with 1.2 gigs of ram!). Is it worth filing a ticket if growl is programmed so that emoticons cannot be displayeD?
Upon a discussion about this subject, we decided not to include this feature. Allowing any application to change the size/font or to add images to the notification is bad. It'll make the notifications no longer uniform which is not what we want.
