Adium's gaim implementation

Post by Lyg »

How can I tell what version of gaim is in an Adium release?

On a side-note, why did the gaim developers choose an all-lowercase name?

Thanks!

Best bet: check out the source code. Otherwise we don't specify the specific release number in the binary itself.

The gaim (or Gaim) folks have that name because it's not a trademark. :) If it were capitalized, it would be too close to a trademark that AOL has on a "competing product".

The changelog is also a good place to look - looking at the version history, 0.73 mentions that we updated to libgaim 1.1.1.
The duck still burns.
