Updating msn name with status

Hi,

I've recently started using adium and have been searching through the forums and various places for the answer to my question but haven't found anything yet - apologies if this is a question answered somewhere else but I have tried looking.

Basically I want to be able to change my status to the various custom statuses that I have created and have adium automatically append this custom name to my display name.

So for instance if I change my status from available to Studying hard my display name will change on someone elses messenger from Selvyr to Selvyr - Studying hard (busy) rather than just displaying Selvyr (busy).

Could someone please let me know if this is possible already and then how to do it.

You have to use AppleScript to append the status message to your screen name.

To do this, choose Adium > Preferences and click the Accounts toolbar item. Double click your Messenger account and choose the Personal tab.

Now, add/insert the text "%_statusMessage" in your screen name where you want Adium to say "studying hard". So your screen name (in the text field) should look like:
Selvyr - %_statusMessage

And Adium will substitute %_statusMessage with "Studying hard" or whatever the away message of your status is when your screen name is displayed to other users (and yourself if you have yourself added to your contact list).

That's neat, but I'd prefer to have the status title instead of the message. Is there an equivalent for that?

Is it me, or does this method return the status message for the wrong account? (I have different statuses.)

I'm so tempted to say stati. Ha ha.
