Disable growl during DVD-playback

Post by lange »

Hi! Great work on the growl-thingy..

I was just wondering, is there some way to automagically disable growl notifications while DVD-player or VLC is running in the foreground?

Personally, I like getting my alerts while watching a DVD. Usually I'd rather be talking to someone specific online and the only reason I'm watching a DVD instead is because they aren't on.

The non-Growl solution would either be:
- Give all the different people I might feel like talking to later custom sign on sounds and then have to remember which is who, but that'd obviously be impractical.
- Speak the name of who is signing on. Which would annoy the hell out of not only me, but everyone in my house.

So, maybe a "Disable Growl when <application list> is active" option would be in order? I'd certainly find Growl less useful if other people were deciding when I am allowed my notifications.

Dude, and why do you think we wouldn't give you a checkbox?

This might be a good solution...
Please comment in that ticket with this suggestion :)

Because secretly you don't love me?

I think that all came off much more dire-sounding than I meant, anyway. I'm ALL about options.
