I really like the Smooth Operator style. However, it's too hard on the eyes when it's so blurry. I was wondering if there's a way to change the strong anti-aliasing on the fonts. It has nothing to do with the font or the operating system's AA, seeing that no other message style has that blurry text.
Help appreciated!

I haven't looked at the stylesheet for Smooth Operator in a long time, but I believe all the text has text shadows, which makes it look blurry or bleed. It remember it used to bother me, too.
Okay, I've just checked and it seems my memory was right for a change. If you really want to get rid of it, the path to the stylesheet is:
Adium.app/Contents/Resources/Message Styles/Smooth Operator.AdiumMessageStyle/Contents/Resources/main.css
Make a copy of main.css (you never know…), then open the original main.css in TextEdit, and just delete every line that starts with "text-shadow" (there's 5 of them), save, quit and re-launch Adium, and it should be less blurry.

There's no promise, but there was a preview. I hope it comes out too [especially with an update to the style with smooth scrolling] but it's a matter of Brad's free time
