Thanks to KingAnt and The_Tick, we have a test build of a workaround for the AIM rate limiting problem. Give it a shot
here
Check

<edit> The download seems to be having issues. We're working on getting an official beta of 0.85.1 up on cachefly where it'll download at a reasonable speed </edit>

The file didn't work for me. When the download was finished and Safari tried to unzip it, I got the message that "Decompression failed." I tried to manually unzip it from the desktop, and got this message:
Unable to unarchive "Adium-85.1.prelim.debug.app.zip" into "Desktop". (Error 2 - No such file or directory.)
I tried redownloading it, but it was only going at 0.2kpbs.

Ya, you folks with these unzip problems are going to have to wait for us to release a beta.

Same thing with me. The download won't finish and only goes about .3k/sec for not very long before safari gives up.

Name people: Address Book names? Check your AB prefs and see if they mysteriously changed.

My address book settings have not changed... But yes, buddies on my list who do not have an alias were unaffected. Re-entering the last names fixed it though
