file sending and receiving

Post by danielmccabe »

i've been using adium for along time as an alternative for mac msn which tends to log me out by it's self all the time. i've finally found away that i can have people's display pictures large by downloading a new message style, but is there any way at all that i can see the percentage of the file sending or even if the other person has accepted?
and is there any way at all to stop those bloody windows popping up when i get sent something, because i'm always typing as it comes up and it uses what i'm typing as the save name and then when i press return to send the message it saves the file, which is really annoying especially when i'm being sent a virus etc.

any help? thankyou

Get te lastest release.
All of that (The transfer window, and the accept pop up) is solved now.

ok, so I'm on .85, and until today, sending and receiving was working fine. Some one on AIM using trillian just tried to send me a file and it wouldn't go through. Is it me, is it him? Help?

This particular bug is still there in .85 for me, annoying one I know.

On the up, file xfer generally seems better in .85, even for msn (I understand most of the effort in .85 file xfer was for aim/'summer of code' thang?)

In current versions you should get a save/save as/cancel dialogue before you see the actual file-name-entry Save window.. is this not the case?
The duck still burns.

evands, not the case when auto accept file transfer is turned on. Not sure about when its off. When its on, when a file xfer comes through that has the same name as an existing file, it pops up the choose a new name/save window immediately with window focus going to the save as name field. So 99% of the time I lose the name the file is meant to be, as I'll be in the middle of typing while this comes up :(
