I always use a mostly transparent contact list, but after learning how to use Interface Builder to give Camino a metal look, i wondered if this is possible in Adium. I opened the ContactListWindow.nib with interface builder and checked the box next to Texture, and in interface builder, the border of the contact list changed from aqua to metal, but when i saved it and quit, then relaunched Adium and set the contact list to Regular Window, it was still aqua.
I know i could use Metallifizer from Unsanity, but i'm curious about how to do it with this way.
[OT] Interface Builder to make a metal contact list

Here is the way we figure it. There are 2 options with why Brushed is around:
1) User space apps that are made for small tasks. See iChat, Safari, iCal and Finder. For the most part they don't have advanced features, albeit are powerful in their own ways.
Aqua is around in System prefs, mail, etc, which in their own rights are full fledged apps. These aren't brushed.
2) ItIsNotACoincidenceThatMetalAndDevilNearlyRhyme
