Transparent Group Bubbles (Where did they go?)

Post by japst4r »

I'm pretty sure that before I upgraded to 86 I was able to set my group bubbles to be transparent. And just to clarify, I'm talking about the bubbles that would say like "Aim" or "MSN" in my contact list when using the Contact Bubbles window style. When I'm setting the background color in the preferences, I can get the sample to be transparent by setting the oppacity of both background colors to 0%, yet when I ok out it doesn't have any effect on my actual group bubbles, they remain unchanged.

I'm pretty sure this must be a bug seeing as how the sample shows that their backgrounds should be transparent. Anyone else experience this and/or know a workaround? I tried reverting back to 85 but I'm still having this problem.

Here is a shot of my Appearance pref window

Here is a shot of the customization window with the sample showing how the group bubbles should appear, and then on the left is what they actually look like.

That makes all of my contact bubbles transparent. I'm trying to make just the group name bubbles (the ones that say 'Aim' and 'MSN') transparent.

Un-tick the box that say "Background" :D

Edit:
Sorry, thats wrong. Customize list layout and un-tick "show group bubbles" in the bubbles tab.

Oh thank goodness. It's weird though, I had tried that earlier and there was still some sort of half transparent halo outlining the group bubbles, and I didn't have bubble outlines on. Seems to be working now though. Thanks.
