File transfers don't work

I never seem to be able to get file transfers to work in Adium, regardless whether I'm on MSN or AIM, and whether the other person is on iChat, trillian, or MSN messenger.

Any suggestions on fixing this? Is there a 'Make transfers work ok' checkbox I'm missing?

MSN file transfer doesn't work on Trillian as far as i know, and last time i checked they didn't work for MSN for mac either. See if this helps:

I can add ICQ on Miranda (http://www.miranda-im.org) to the list of messengers with non-working file-transfer from/to Adium.

I can't get Adium-to-Adium icq transfers to work :-(

Msn works though -- it's great to see that we are better than the official client here!

I don't have any issues with file transfer, I never really have. I mainly use msn.

Would the fact that I only really tend to FT things with in the network in our house have anything to do with it??

ok people if you are trying to send folders then yes it wont work with any service supported in the adium protocol. if you ar trying to send say an mp3 or dmg or a text document or w/e it will work. the code hasnt bee written or has been but hasnt been functional in gaim which is the core of adium
