hi guys. i have been limewireing and googling for a few weeks now with no success in finding either:
hardwaregrowler (modded so it doesn't require dockspace)
SmokeStacks
or VolumeNotifier
basically i swap out a lot of external hard drives and it would be really beneficial for me to know when they mount/unmount. the latter two are archiac, so they may or may not work under 10.4.X, even if found.
i'd rather use hardwaregrowler anyway, but even after following the directions by the author to mod it not to require dock space, i am left with a broken app (even after touching it in the terminal.
can anyone help? would be greatly appreciated. my dock is already supersized
Volume Notifier and SmokeStack I believe are gone because we included hardware growler. Does anything show up in the console when hwgrowler gives you problems?

thanks for the reply.
it's not that hwgrowler isn't working, it's just that i already have 25+ dock apps, and i'd rather it work behind the scenes without dockspace. i followed the instructions posted here to achieve this, but all i got was a broken app that doesn't work after it was modded.

yes, got that from what you said before. What I wanted to know is if you got any errors in Console.app with the modified hwgrowler when you launched it.

app won't even open to get that far
So you have console.app open, then open hardware growler, and see nothing in console.app for hardware growler?

no, sir. is it possible to load up your non-active application version of hwg?

but hwgrowler doesn't pop up a notification when the SSID of your associated access point changes. SmokeStacks did. NetGrowler is supposed to, but it doesn't seem to in production.

So request it for hwgrowler on the trac ticket system...
