Hi there! I did a search, and could find what I was looking for, so I figure I'll just ask away.
I'm using the latest stable build of Adium on a G3 iMac running 10.4.3, and I'm on rogers high speed internet. The problem is I'm getting unbearably slow file transfers over MSN, but downloading and uploading. How slow, you ask? Well should an 8 MB file take 3 hours to transfer? Am I just impatient, or is this normal.
I live in Toronto, ontario, if that make a difference, and I'm behind a router, sharing the line with three other PCs.
Help!! Please!

anyways heres the answer to your question at http://trac.adiumx.com/wiki/FileTransfe ... sfersoslow
i personaly only get 5kbs when transfering threw msn so i try to avoid using itMSN file transfers in the protocol supported by libgaim go through the Microsoft server. They are therefore very reliable but also quite slow. MSN7 and other MSN clients support a direct person-to-person transfer as is used in AIM, which is not yet supported by libgaim.

Its a big annoyance for me. I hope libgaim implements it [P2P] soon. I have found the official MSN for Mac to sometimes be faster, but it might just have been luck.
Which "other" clients support it? Any for Mac? Mercury perhaps?MSN7 and other MSN clients support a direct person-to-person transfer as is used in AIM
LibGAIM is updating the MSN protocol(I think, to MSN7).xGrape wrote:Its a big annoyance for me. I hope libgaim implements it [P2P] soon. I have found the official MSN for Mac to sometimes be faster, but it might just have been luck.

And for other clients, check out aMSN, if you want to send files.
