cmd-ctl-shift-4 + paste != icon?

I noticed that if you copy a (selection-based) screen shot to the clipboard (cmd-ctl-shift-4), and then try to paste into the user icon changer in Adium, it doesn't work. I vaguely recall that said icon-manager is from iChat (maybe...?), where procedure does work, so I'm not sure if this is a request or a bug report (or just commentary). Also, if I make a new file in Preview from the clipboard, and then copy that, then I'm able to paste into Adium's icon-thing.

When you take a screen capture like that, it is a .PDF file, I don't think those will work as icons.

just so you know you can just hit cmd-shift-4 for the action

you can always make an PDF into JPEG ora anything else...
With preview you can do that....With Export and do what you want!
