Can't enter my account name

Post by LCZeroro »

Help please! I can't figure out how to enter my account name on Adium! It only asks for my password. I don't know where to enter my account name. Please help. I really want to use this great program!

Haha, Evan, what's the likelihood of us both posting that at the same time? :P

No! That's not it! I know how to create an account! It just doesn't show where you put the account name!

Nope. I'm talking about the name of the account! You know, I put in the username LCZeroro then enter my password. That kind of name! It's confusing me...

Well, if you take the inverse square of the phase of the moon (expressed as a fraction of the whole moon) and multiply it by the average data transfer rate on the Internet over the past 24 hours...

Nevermind ;-) I wish the timestamps included seconds so we could see how close it actually was.

the username should be saved for any account that you've added. this doesn't work like the typical AOL or MSN clients where you type in the name each time you want to sign on. all you have to do to sign on is select the account you want to connect with in the status menu when you've focused on adium (or in the little duck icon up in the menu-bar) and at the appropiate stage in the log-in process it will ask you for your password (as was previously stated, because the account name is already given and stored when you add the account). if this isn't what you're talking about, then i have no idea. maybe you should add some screen shots. :?

The CreatingAnAccount link above is about adding your username and password to Adium. I'm pretty sure this is what you're talking about.

Well, maybe it's because I can't see the +. I only see an arrow pointing down and an edit button.

Could you screen shot that? What language are you running Adium in? What version? What's the format of the disk on which you're running Adium?

It's not working. I'm screwed... :'( I'm using Mac OS 10.3.9.

EDIT: XD, it was the 4 at the top of the keyboard. I'm such a retard. I'M ONE UNINFORMED MUNCHLAX. But it's a PDF. I've got to use Rapidshare.

Thanks for hosting it! It's just that, Photobucket won't let me upload it.

Yeah, its cuz of the strange format it was in, photobucket only likes jpgs and gifs (maybe pngs...) but preview (the program it comes up in by default when you open it) can "Save As..." into other formats. I just changed it to JPG.
