I have been using Cyberduck for several weeks now with no issues until this morning. I connected to a server that I connect to, upload to and download from several times on a daily basis. This morning when I tried to download necessary files I got a "IO Error (Permission Denied). I was logged into the server, so I know my username and password were correct. I called the person running the server and he changed everything to read/write permissions and I still got the same error. The 2 files I was able to download were protected to the point that it asked me for a password to even move it to a different folder on my desktop.
I needed to get the files, so I downloaded a trial version of Fetch and logged in to download the files. I had no problem downloading the files and am able to edit and move them as normal.
Is there a chance that I could have a setting changed or something? I thought that something may have happened with my version so I went ahead and deleted it from my hard drive and redownloaded.
I have been able to download from other servers. But, this is the server that I need to download from.
I just need some help so I can stop pulling my hair out.
THANKS
Permission Denied
Please send a screenshot of the error message and the output in console.log (/Applications/Utilities/Console.app) to bugs@cyberduck.ch
The problem seems to be that as of version 2.5.5, the default setting in the Cyberduck preferences is to adjust the permissions on downloads. This means that downloaded files have the same permissions locally as the original on the server. This can be a problem if you want to download files from a read-only directory; the directory will get created locally as read-only too and you won't be able to write any files into. As a workaround, disable 'change permissions on download' in the cyberduck transfer preferences.
