if you set yourself invisible you should log in invisible the next time you log in as long asx you don't change it.

On second thought, this may be only in 1.0... anyone can confirm?

There's a bug on some protocols where it claims to log in as invisible, but doesn't actually. Not sure if this is fixed in 1.0, it might be.

Sorry to resurrect an old thread...

Post by tkn »

I am resurrecting this thread. I also would like a modifier key at launch so that I can login invisibly. Oftentimes I just want to pop on to see if one person is on, and don't want to get nailed by anyone for conversation and it can be kind of difficult to switch quickly...

How about holding down "i" when starting Adium? (I will submit a feature request ticket as well)

If you have a status for doing this, then it'd be easy to setup via a Keyboard Shortcut in the System Preferences

But is it truly stealthy?

Doing that I think would still log you in visibly and then switch... I will try this and see if you actually appear on other's buddy lists when I am sitting in front of another computer...

Catfish_Man answered that bit earlier, my comment was only regarding your wanting to hit a hotkey to get to a status.

Hold down shift when you launch Adium and it won't log you on to any services. You can then sign on as invisible
