Trouble concerning Rendezvous

Post by HAL-9000 »

Hi!

I'm having trouble with chatting via Rendezvous... sometimes messages sent by me simply won't arrive, invitations to games don't work at all.
I'm also getting this message in /var/log/system.log:

Jan 28 18:36:23 apfel mDNSResponder[164]: 23095: DNSServiceResolver(julian@apfel._presence._tcp.local.) has remained active for over two minutes. This places co
nsiderable burden on the network.

Any hints?

I'm having the same problem (OS X 10.4.3, Adium 0.88 on a G5 dual-2.3). I've seen messages like the one below for a long time when IMing w/ my wife on our Rendezvous/Bonjour network, and noticed it when my sending her a link would kill the chat. I recently got her to switch from iChat to Adium, but the messages still occur. And now in Adium, after a few minutes I am no longer able to receive messages she sends (although she can see messages from me).

Here's the messages from console.log:

Code: Select all

Feb 10 21:26:51 MyMachine : Client application bug: DNSServiceResolver(192_168_1_101._ichat._tcp.local.) active for over two minutes. This places considerable burden on the network.
Feb 10 21:26:51 MyMachine : Client application bug: DNSServiceResolver(MyWife@HerComputer._presence._tcp.local.) active for over two minutes. This places considerable burden on the network.
Note that 192.168.1.101 is the IP of her machine, not mine.

We can still send messages to each other via AIM or MSN, just not Bonjour/Rendezvous. I saw the "ichat" in the one message, and looked, but neither of us is running iChat.

Any idea what the problem is? Does Adium have a bug in its Bonjour implementation?
