There is no way possible to do so directly via instant messenger AFAIK. (there are workarounds, as noted above)

Why do you need to know their IP? You can always send them to
http://whatismyip.com/ and have them tell you...

You could direct-connect to them and run something like netstat -a -f inet -W and figure it out from there.

The only way for it to even be possible to get someone's IP over AIM is to establish a direct connection with them. Of course, Adium cannot report their IP to you, not because the devs don't want you to have it, but because it
can't . Like evulish said, run that netstat command, or maybe something like AIM Sniff (
