I was working with the 1.0 svn for some days now (actually to dig into the status Applescript). But while working with the 1.0 I got my attention to a something really annoying:
I could not receive the status messages (away message on AIM/ICQ) from ICQ users, using the original ICQ client on windows. On the other hand I could receive these messages with 0.89. I guess this could be a problem with the new joscar implementation or even an issue of joscar itself.
I could reproduce this problem myself while installing the latest ICQ client (version 5) on a windows machine and setting a custom away message. I could retrieve it with 0.89 and could not with 1.0 svn. During the last week of 1.0 usage, the only client I could for sure read the status messages where other adium users.
I also filed a ticket on track (3427). But I think this needs more attention, since there were already some longstanding status message issues with other clients (i.e. miranda), which was a big issue for some users. And losing another client on this issue is a big step down. Many people I know leave an away message with information, how or where they can be contacted. So this makes Adium quite unusable for this.
Retrieving Away Messages with 1.0 svn

Ok, sorry. Didn't know I have to check out that branch. I'll do that later. For the screenshot: the difference in the text on that screenshot is the big difference. On the left it just shows the status itself (in german translation, it would mean "away" in english). And on the right it shows the actual status message set by the user.
I'll test this with the joscar branch and report back, otherwise you can close the ticket, I guess.
