is there any way to change the way my name is displayed in the message view? i'm using eclipse, and it looks awesome with my contacts alias' but my super-long msn name makes it look horrible. i guess i could change my msn name, but i was hoping i could just enter an alias for myself or something
If you go to Prefs --> Accounts you can Alias yourself. Then it'll show up as that name instead of your screen name in the message view. I'm not quite sure if this is what you're asking or not. If it is great, problem solved. If not, can you screen capture what you're view is doing now and try to explain how you want it changed a little better?
ok what i mean is that in most message views (at least the ones i like and use) the name that is displayed for my contact is the alias i gave them. for example an msn contact with the screen name "i like big butts" could have been given the alias "bob dole". in the message view i will see "bob dole". is there any way i can do this for myself. i want to see an alias for myself rather than my msn screen name. sorry for being unclear
but users will see the alias too will they not? basically i want to keep my msn screen name so other people can see it, but use my real name in my message view...
