Macupdate and Adium
Macupdate and Adium
I use this MacUpdate menubar item that tells me when new software updates and stuff is added in MacUpdate's database.
So today when I saw that Adium X 0.89.1 was out I thought I should get it. (I kind of hoped that it would fix the "crash-while-connecting-to-MSN-bug"). Then I went to Macupdate.com and searched for adiumx. Yes I know I could use adium or adium x. Anyway I thought I would get a list where I could choose Adium X, but that wasn't what happended at all...
Search for adiumx yourself or try this link:

Now that's interesting!
Try my software!

Weird.
When I search for just plain Adium (no x), I get this:
http://www.macupdate.com/search.php?os= ... ords=adium

Same goes for Adium X (with space).
I'm curious as to why other clients hit on the 'adium' or 'adiumx' keywords. That's certainly... um, unique unless they specifically note it in the text for some reason [though that doesn't necessarily explain it all.]

Ya, I guess we could do the same, but that would just be wrong.evands wrote:It didn't before -- it just went to Mercury. I added adiumx to our keywords, so now it shows both Adium and Mercury. Pretty underhanded of whomever submitted the Mercury listing, really.The_Tick wrote:adiumx works for me.
Although, it could be based on comments.

Nope, I just checked Mercury's listing and they had included "adiumx adium x amsn" in their keywords. I took the liberty of updating their listing...The_Tick wrote:Ya, I guess we could do the same, but that would just be wrong.evands wrote:It didn't before -- it just went to Mercury. Maybe we should do that for all the other apps using adium where they shouldn't be?
