FTPS failure

Post by MikeBododo »

Hello,

I want to use FTPS (FTP with TLS-SSL), which should be possible according to my provider. FTP works OK.
When I use FTPS, login works OK, but Cyberduck stalls when trying to access the "/" directory content. While trying several times, I got the following error :
FTP Erreur: I won't open a connection to 10.0.1.2 (only to 83.113.91.28)

(note that I connect to the Internet through my Airport base station)

Do you know what goes wrong ? What can I do to fix it ?
Thanks !

Looks like you are trying to use active mode for the ftp data channel. Try passive mode instead which should work across NAT.

Thanks for your answer, but unfortunately I can't set the Cyberduck to FTPS (FTP with TLS-SSL) with passive mode. When I select passive mode in the server drawer on the side of the main window, and I look again at the settings, they have been returned automatically to active mode !!!

I tried everything, it didn't work... :x

Do you have a way to force the tool in passive mode ??

Thanks !

hi mike, exactly the same problem here - changing from active to passive doesn't seem to 'stick', and is reset to active upon reinspection of the settings.

Same problem with Transmit, except the option within that is greyed out completely if attempting to use any method other than standard FTP.

I can't reproduce the problem about not being able to select a passive connection.

I have used your latest build : indeed passive connection is now possible. :)
...
Unfortunately, it didn't solve my connection problem : I can connect to the Web site with FTP-TLS, but as soon as I log in, Cyberduck tries to get the content of the / directory and gets stuck there (I/O Erreur: operation timed out.).

I have tried to connect from home and from another network : same problem. Do you think it comes from a configuration issue somewhere ?

Thanks for your support ! (and thanks for this fantastic tool : Cyberduck is excellent !)

Dear all,

I have looked at the console and saw the following messages when the FTPS connection fails to establish (address hidden):

Code: Select all

441796 [<ch/cyberduck/core/ftps/FTPSSession: 0xa0bcd50>] WARN ch.cyberduck.core.ftps.SSLProtocolSocketFactory - No data channel security: Fallback to [C]
441838 [<ch/cyberduck/core/ftps/FTPSSession: 0xa0bcd50>] WARN com.enterprisedt.net.ftp.FTPControlSocket - Forced to close socket 885088[SSL_RSA_WITH_RC4_128_MD5: Socket[addr=ftp.________.com/___.___.___.99,port=21,localport=49424]]
Does someone knows what is going on ? :? :?
Thank you very much !!!
