Standard Message View (currently only used on 10.2). The Webkit Message View is known as the WKMV or WMV.
Badass. Thanks!
/goes to turn SMV on as webkit is damn slow on this g3 700
What have I done!? Now it'll never die...
/me cries in a corner
Don't worry, I had to quickly change it back. It only displayed the messages in a very small box within the actual message window - it wasn't usable at all.
I believe if you just get info for Adium.app and uncheck the Webkit Message View plugin, it will use the standard message view regardless of what OS you're using. Easier than whatever that hack listed above was

Yes, this is especially bad for me, because the dock icon isn't changing when I go away. (I assume this is a known issue.) Also, the Dock icon switcher won't use a lot of the older icons I have listed there. Anyhow, good luck to the devs working on all that.

I'm not aware of problems with the new dock icon selector... could you post or post links to a couple of the icons in question?
Okay, multiple requests for the away window... could y'all offer some suggestions for how to handle it with accounts having different states? Mock ups welcome.
How about this for a mockup? Made it in Interface Builder.
I couldn't figure out how to edit the text in the title bar, but maybe it could show "3 Accounts Are Away"...
(What, no image attachments on the cocoaforge forum?)
One bug that I've been noticing is that when I receive an initial message Adium 0.8svn plays both the Initial Message sound and the Received Message sound. Also, the "Let others know when you are typing" checkbox doesn't stay checked, and therefore I cannot send out typing notifications.

Yep, me too. ... I'll make a mockup later if needed, but how about something with tabs (across the top(?), for each account), and then just the usual window for the away-ness part?

It must depend a lot on message view: I'm on a G3/400, and it's just fine (using Tül - though I'm sure there are less-minimal styles that aren't deadly slow.).

It doesn't matter what message style I'm using. Using Adium by itself usually is alright, but if I have Safari open with a few tabs I can get massive delays in opening the message window and sending/receiving messages (my guess is it's a delay in showing them, not actually sending them).
