Quicktime failure in BInary mode

Post by flashfast »

Hi - any help greatly appreciated.

I'm trying to upload a series of Quicktime files. I am a novice when it comes to what is ascii and binary. In Cyberduck I've tried uploading on the binary mode UTF 8 mode and the movies won't play on the website. I was steered to C Duck via my webhost company (Fluid hosting - they're excellent by the way) as they tried C Duck and it worked fine. I suspect that something might be wrong with the way the net providor is set up because I used CC Publisher to upload a movie to Archive.org and the movie didn't show up either. I've tried various Quicktime formats using C Duck - such as Sorenson, Motion JPEGA and JPEGB and H264. Uploading Quicktime in California was a breeze, no problem, but here in Australia using Telstra as a net providor I have no luck.

Any thoughts or workarounds? I have a British client eager to view some samples of the video.

Regards

Just thought I'd post a reply to my own question - it might help somebody else - quicktime video should be made 'self contained' before uploading to the web. Cheers.
