Pasting formatting text causes funny things to happen.
* If I copy and paste link, and then edit it, wrong link is sent (because <a href> stays unedited)
* It looks ridiculous when I copy text from Adium log - it gets my message style formatting copied (which in my case is orange background)
* It adds unneeded confusion/distraction with protocols that don't support formatting.
So can I disable formatting for input box completely?
Disable pasting formatted text?

I like this idea, and I think it's discussed in this ticket.
It seems that you can achieve what you want by using "Paste and Match Style," which is done with the convoluted ctrl-cmd-shift-V*. Personally, what I would like is for regular "Paste" to act like "Paste and Match Style," but this may or may not happen as it goes against what is standardly being done by Apple (see the discussion in the ticket).
* This is in 1.0 SVN, I don't know if that option exists in 0.89.1.
