Adium crashes on startup

In the last few days, when I double click adium to open it, the icon bounces and the colored wheel spins and then the crash window shows up! HELP I NEED MY ADIUM!!!!

Have you tried deleting the Adium 2.0 folder thats in Application Support? That usually fixes a crash for me.

Well, you lose all of your preferences, and all of your Xtras, but yeah, it might work

Generally, it's better to move the folder to somewhere else. If it doesn't help, you can replace it.

Or if you're adventurous, move the different subfolders out one at a time to see if any one helps.

I've been having the same this past hour. Normally this is the sign of something up with the MSN network though I'm not aware of anything.

Is this just me? I'd like to avoid trashing my preferences unless I really have to.

Incidentally my crash reporter logs are sent under the name michael (at) aperantos (dot) com.

I too am having crash on startup. I believe the crash happens when Adium is logging into one of my accounts.

I tried the link, but when I launch this version of Adium, nothing happens...the app just doesn't launch.

If I do move my preferences, the app launches...

How do i install that build you just gave me? I tried overwriting the old adium.app but then when I tried to execute it, it won't run. and then when i put the original .76 build back in, it runs fine.

Hm, should run normally. May have been errors in building.. I'll post a new one tomorrow (it's not worth the trouble to troubleshoot a snapshot probably).

I would take a screen shot but that wouldn't show anything. I just overwrite it with your your build and when I try to open it. the duck jumps up in my dock but then nothing happens, like adium doesn't start.. like NOTHING. :tear:

. I grabbed and zipped up the wrong copy of Adium... *checks* I have 6 different copies, all in various places, so it can get confusing if I'm not paying attention.

Okay, Adium X 0.77 is available in pre-release form for the forums. This should fix the crash discussed most recently in this thread (and work a whole lot better than that development build I accidentally posted....

)

Well tried to do the delete of preferences and it didnt work with 0.76 still crashes.

Tried the 0.77 version that was posted above same problem occurs.

I dont think its related to the 10.3.8 since I have had this update for several days and had no issue with adium until today.

I am sure the brainy guys who designed this app will figure out this issue shortly.

What email for the crash report(s)?
