Copying contacts from one account to another

Post by jab630 »

If I have two AIM accounts logged in at the same time, it appears I can move contacts from one account's buddy list to the other's (via drag and drop), but not copy them. Is there some way to do this?
Thanks in advance!

If you use Get Info, and select Accounts, I think you can change the group in which the contact resides within the different accounts you have, and therefore you will be able to copy the contact.

Or you can add the contact the normal way and add it to your other account instead.

Right, but what if you want to do it en masse (instead of one buddy at a time)?

Well, if you use the official AIM client, you can export your buddy list, log into the other account, and import the exported list.

You can't within Adium at this time.

If you're talking about AIM, I know that the official AIM client (http://www.aim.com) can export your list... you can export it, then sign in with the other name and import it. The imported list when thereafter appear with Adium.

For other protocols, I'm not sure.
