AIM doesn't work?

Post by Nefesh »

It asks for my password, which it shouldn't need to because I have it stored for auto-login. When I enter the password (which I KNOW to be correct), it just asks for it again. I reinstalled and got the same thing.

Thanks!

Can you connect to your account using the official AIM client?

i have a similar issue. it includes asking me for my password repeatedly, but even when i enter it, adium keeps trying to sign me into my aim names unsuccessfully. after too many tries, i'm promted with something like "you tried too many times, give it ten minutes and try again. if you try again too soon, you'll have to wait longer"

the only thing that works every time i try is AIM itself, but i have to choose one name at a time.

ichat works sometimes, but isn't reliable.

have we found a preference that might be causing this or something?

I have the exact same issue as the thread creator except my AIM account signs in just fine, ICQ is acting weird. It want's me to retype my password all the time (yes, it's the correct password) and it's getting really annoying.

Sorry if this was asked earlier.

Can you folks sign in with the Official AIM client/ICQ client?

Yes, I can even log in using Adium 0.89.1, but not with any of the 1.0 betas.

And are you sure "connect via http" is not enabled in the account preferences?

Can you post screenshots of each of the tabs in the account settings?

I am having the same problem. It started when I upgraded to 0.89.1. I am going to try an older version again and see if that works.
