MSN Display name in message window

Hello, I was wondering if you kind people could help me with a problem:

In message windows, all my contact's have aliases which show up instead of display names. This is good. However, my MSN display name shows up. This is not so good. How can I make my name appear in the message windows instead?

Well, I somehow got it to work....I don't know how...but then Adium crashed (as it often does when I try and change my display picture)and it went back to showing my MSN display name instead of my actual name. Anyone have any idea?

Check advanced prefs; I believe there are settings for that there.

I've tried advanced prefs...I've tried "Show display names as status messages" on and off, and I've set the custom name format to "Alias", both to no effect. My friends' names are shown as aliases, but mine is not.

Don't have a solution but the problem had annoyed me too.
