Restoring Adium Preferences...? HELP

Post by scott.melendez »

I recently purchased a new PowerBook. I did a full backup of my previous Mac.

How do I restore all my Adium settings, accounts, etc.? Do I just drop all the Adium preferences files from my backup to my new Mac? Or is there something more? Please help!

The Adium 2.0 folder in ~/Library/Application Support/ has all your mesage views, contact list styles, and most of the preferences, if you move that folder to your new mac, you should be good to go. HTH.

There is a 'Users' Folder inside the Adium 2.0 folder that handles the accounts I believe.

To clarify: the Users folder has all of the Adium "user accounts"...normally you just have one, the default user. This is different from accounts like your MSN or AIM account. I think settings for the specific accounts are in Adium 2.0/Users/default/Accounts/ and Adium 2.0/Users/default/Accounts/Accounts.plist; there might be other files as well.

Just copy over the entire ~/Library/Application Support/Adium 2.0/ folder and you should be fine.
