does anyone know if there is a way to change the commands for emoticons? because the MSN emoticon pack has different commands to actual MSN (eg, :-D instead of

Yes, it is possible, but not from within the application itself (I don't think - I don't typically use many emoticons myself...) but maybe you can find an emoticon pack that does it, which may be more user friendly.
