Huge ~/.gaim/icons directory

Post by sogood »

Does anyone know why is my ~/.gaim/icons directory blowing out to 100Mb in size. It's packed full of 4kb files.

I deleted it and there does not appear to be any problems. But why is it there in the first place? 100Mb and growing?

It's a bug, corrected in Adium 0.8.

Will the old icons still be there?
The ones that are taking up all the space?

Yeah... you can delete them safely.

We can't just indiscriminately clear the folder or whatever because a real installation of gaim could be using them.

But gaim isn't available for OS X...
